The beauty products you NEED during quarantine

Before quarantine left me looking like I just crawled out of a dark hole, I lived by my beauty schedule — hair every six weeks, nails every three weeks, facials once a month.

Now, it’s been two months since my hair has been revived, my then-perfect nails have been pampered and my face has been professionally cleansed. My icy locks have turned brassy, my nails look like they belong to a little boy and pimples have risen where glowing skin used to be.

While these problems are small in the face of the global pandemic, it is still a major shift in the normal lives of plenty of women and men. When you don’t look as good as you usually do, you don’t feel as good. I know that my confidence is currently in the gutter. So, I’ve been trying to bring back my beauty routine as much as possible.

Here are some beauty products I am swearing by during quarantine:

Dip Powder Nail Kit

This is the FIRST thing I bought when Florida announced its stay-at-home order. Luckily, my mom has a beautician license, so I was able to buy my kit from Salon Centric. If you don’t have access to a store like this, there are plenty of other options — Amazon, Rossi, Revel, Kiara Sky and more.

I’ve done my own nails a few times now and it’s really not that hard. The biggest issue I have found with doing my own dip is that they don’t stay on very long — maybe a week. I think this is because I don’t have an electronic nail drill. Even so, I feel SO much better when I have my nails done.

Malibu C Hard Water Wellness Hair Remedy

This stuff is MAGIC! I bought it after Jamie Beckham, who runs her own blog called The Blonder Life, talked about it on her Instagram and was blown away when I used it on my hair. I wish I took a before picture, but before using it my hair was SO brassy and my roots line was fierce. After leaving it on for five minutes in the shower, my brassiness was significantly reduced, and my roots looked more like a color melt!

SO impressed. Blondies, you NEED this.

Vitamin C, Jojoba & Honey, & a Freeze Stick

My skin is a mess from eating like absolute trash for the past month. I have three staple skin products that are saving me from being a pepperoni face — vitamin C, jojoba and my freeze stick.

I use vitamin C on my face every morning. It leaves my skin moisturized and brightened and encourages collagen production, and I just love the smell of it.

Jojoba & honey is a healer, you guys. I don’t use this every day, but when I can tell my skin is getting bad, I put this on before bed. Not only is it good at healing blemishes, but it works magic on scars too.

Last, but certainly not least, my Lira ICE Clear Stick! This is my secret weapon. My mom, who is an esthetician, first gave me this acne spot treatment a few years ago, and I now need to have one on my bathroom counter at all times. As soon as I feel a pimple popping up, I press this on it, and I SWEAR it works wonders. I mean, it is the BEST. If I could only have one skin product for the rest of my life, it would be this. Hands. Down.
