Moving to a new city where I knew absolutely no one was intimidating. With no friends, I explored Charleston, home to the best brunch spots, cutest stores and most beautiful scenery, all alone. It didn’t bother me but having someone to enjoy it with would be much more fun.
I had heard of Bumble BFF but was skeptical and nervous. What if the person wasn’t they said they were? I could be kidnapped! But, I locked up my fears, threw away the key and signed up.
Getting started was simple: fill out your information, add some pictures, put down your interests.
The making friends part? Not so easy! Honestly, I think dating for friends is harder and more nerve-racking than dating for a boyfriend. I questioned how to start a conversation and what to talk about once it was started. Confidence issues were in full swing.
After a few days and plenty of matches later, I wondered if Bumble BFF would turn into a Tinder-like experience – messaging people, but never actually meeting them.
Wrong!
I made plans with a girl from Bumble to get drinks at a nearby rooftop bar. Both being cautious, I brought my roommate, and she brought a friend. I invited another girl from Bumble BFF to join us. And…
It ended up being one of the most FUN nights of my summer. And it wasn’t the last night with them either! Now, I’ve hung out with these girls multiple times – eating brunch, watching the Bachelorette, going to the beach.

My experience with Bumble BFF = a total success. It turned into everything I hoped it would and everything I needed it to be.

Here's some of my tips to having a positive Bumble BFF experience:
• Be yourself
• Keep an open mind
• Meet in public
• Bring someone with you, if you can. If not, make sure someone knows where you are going.
• Have fun!
Signing up for Bumble BFF was one of the best decisions I made this summer. It gave me some awesome people to have fun with. Even after I move in a few weeks, I see myself keeping in touch with my new Charleston BFFs. I'm so grateful for these summer memories!
