In honor of Andrew and I's two year anniversary (August 27, 2018), I thought I would share the story of how we started on this journey.
Andrew and I's love story is a rather unique one that not many people (outside of those closest to us) really know about, so I thought I would share!
It was the summer of 2016, and college move-in day was fast approaching. A common thing to do when you decide which college you are going to attend is to join the class Facebook page. So I did.

I saw that there had been a GroupMe (a group messaging app) made for the UF Class of 2020 to get to know each other. I joined one but never really talked to anybody or participated in the conversation. Early on, everyone was sending their Instagram usernames in the group chat for people to follow. I followed some people, but only followed one boy- Andrew- because, in my opinion, he was the only cute one (LOL). He accepted my follow request and followed me back, and that was that.
On a random day in July (the 23rd to be exact), the cute boy commented on my most recent picture, "bruh." What could this mean? I was with my best friend, Kate, trying to figure out the cryptic comment and come up with something to reply back. We came up with the ever so original reply of "bruh." Now, all I could do was wait.
But nothing happened. I took matters into my own hands, sending Andrew a direct message on Instagram saying, "trying to decipher your bruh." To my surprise, Andrew told me that I had tagged him in one of those Instagram's Ugliest Posts. My account had been hacked and tagged multiple people in posts like this, Andrew being one of them. I apologized and explained what happened.
Then Andrew asked for my Snapchat. Score! I got the cute boys Snapchat.
Andrew and I have talked ever day since then.
On August 18th, Andrew moved in to his dorm (I moved into mine on the 16th), and we met for the first time in person that night.

The next night was convocation (a welcome ceremony for freshmen), and, like the giddy teenagers with a huge crush we were, we held hands for the first time. We even had our first kiss that night. We both agree it was a first kiss right out of a movie (awww). I was smitten.
While our relationship moved quickly, I think we both felt like we had known each other a lot longer than just a month. It just felt right. We had been talking every day and gotten to know each other pretty well before even meeting each other in person. We had a lot of the same values, were both raised Catholic and had very similar goals for our futures.
We officially started dating on August 27th, 2016, and we haven't looked back since.
In the past two years, we have:
Gone to the Florida Georgia game.
Gone to a Heat game.
Survived Rolling Loud.
Concurred a summer of long distance.
Traveled to Asheville, NC.
Seen beluga whales at Seaworld.
Planned a trip to Gatlinburg (happening Nov. 2018!!!).
And so much more!
I've found my soulmate and best friend, who I love more and more every day. I can't imagine life without him. I'm forever grateful for Instagram hackers and the University of Florida for bringing me my dream guy! I love you, bubs.
